Sources
The majority are directly from nurseries. Some come via TradeMe sellers (who may also be nurseries), Mitre 10 or the local East West Organics (though the latter doesn't have much plant information, so it has to be something I already know about). I've also bought a few things from a couple of local plant centres.


If you're trying to source a specific variety, feel free to comment and I'll happily look it up for you (the joy of online purchases and hoarding plant labels means that it should be very easy).

The first few months in my garden, I ordered a lot of plants, so I doubt I'll be keeping that rate up. I also tried to source plants from a variety of places (the closer the better for plant-climate comp. But the main nurseries that I ordered from and would order from again are:

*The Ballerina range are all columnar trees. I've discovered that the Spire range is also sold here, but only in South Island nurseries - it's more of a British variety, so Auckland may be too warm for it. I'm still debating whether to order a Crimson Spire, as they're supposed to be one of the best columnar apples to eat.
